University Archives Announces the Digital Collection of the FIU Department of Theatre

Upon meeting Marianna Murray, Office Coordinator, Department of Theatre, one realizes the vast contribution she has made to the department. The Department of Theatre has been a degree granting program since 1972, and Marianna has been safeguarding and archiving the department’s history for 20 of those years.

297 Segments of "FIU in View" Available Online

As older audiovisual materials such as U-matic and VHS tapes are degrading and hardware are becoming obsolete, the Special Collections and University Archives (SPCUA) Department has begun the monumental task of preserving the historical audiovisual holdings of the University Archives. SPCUA has over 2,000 audiovisual materials ranging from reel-to-reel to U-matic to VHS to DVD documenting the events, lectures, and history of FIU.

Congrats to Andrey, Our "Love Your Library: Guess How Many Kisses Are in the Jar" Contest Winner!

“Love your library: Guess how many kisses are in the jar!” Contest.  Last week, our FIU library lovers (students and faculty) from MMC & BBC were encouraged to guess how many Hershey’s candy kisses were the jar. Providing your guess was not the only thing the library wanted to know. Participants were also asked to give a reason why they loved the FIU Libraries, with an optional question of what they would love to see added to the library. In all, we received 48 entries including a few from our FIU Libraries’ Instagram and Twitter page.
